Sprouted Millet Porridge with Carmelized Apple
Simple and hearty, millet porridge is an excellent alternative to oatmeal. It's wonderful on its own, but the carmelized apple throws it right over the top!
- ¼ cup Second Spring Organic Sprouted Millet (dry)
- 1¼ cups unsweetened Almond Milk
- 1 apple
- 1½ tbsp maple syrup
- ½ tsp cinnamon
Combine millet and almond milk in a small pot. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer on low for 20 minutes.
Peel (if desired) and slice the apple. Add apple, maple syrup and cinnamon to a pan on low-medium heat until apples are tender, about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
Top porridge with apples and some additional almond milk, if desired. Serve warm.
