Sprouted Honey Wheat Crackers

Deliciously easy homemade crackers with the perfect hint of sweetness!

Introducing a wholesome snack that’s as satisfying as it is simple – Sprouted Honey Wheat Crackers! This pantry staple is so quick and easy to make, you can have homemade snacks without the hassle. These are made with just a few ingredients you may already have on hand, including sprouted whole grain wheat flour and a touch of honey for sweetness. I thought they tasted like a cross between a wheat thin and graham cracker, and they got two thumbs up from our resident toddler taste tester!

ingredient tips & substitutions

  • Sprouted Wheat Flour – these could also be made with Sprouted Spelt or Sprouted Red Fife Flour
  • Honey – This is the prominent flavour, you can substitute maple syrup but they will taste quite different
  • Olive oil – you can swap for any neutral oil or melted butter

recipe notes

  • Please Note: we do not recommend this recipe for children under 1 due to their crunchy texture and the use of salt and honey.
  • Pro tip: if you score a cross into the top of the dough before you roll, it’s much easier to roll into a rectangle shape.
  • Once the crackers cool completely, store in an airtight container at room temperature or in the freezer. If the crackers soften, they can be crisped up again in the oven!

Sprouted Honey Wheat Crackers

Deliciously easy homemade crackers with the perfect hint of sweetness!
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 8 minutes
Servings: 120 crackers

What You'll Need:

  • cups Sprouted Wheat Flour
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • tbsp honey
  • ¼ cup water

How To Make It:

  • Preheat oven to 400° F.
  • In a bowl, combine the flour, salt, and oil by rubbing it in between your palms until the mixture looks like sand.
  • Add the water and mix just until no flour remains. Allow it to rest 5 minutes.
  • Roll out the dough between two sheets of parchment paper as thin and even as you can, about 1/16 inch. Rolling thinly will give you crisp crackers, thicker will be softer.
  • Cut dough into 1-inch squares with a pizza cutter or sharp knife and transfer to a lined baking sheet. Prick each with a fork several times.
  • Bake for 5-8 minutes, or until crackers are golden brown. Keep your eye on them as they can burn quickly! If some crackers are browning more than others, remove those and continue baking. The crakers will crisp up more as they cool.
