People tend to think of wheat as a flour, but this staple grain is just as delicious whole. Organic sprouted wheat berries have a soft, chewy texture (similar to barley) and mild nutty flavour. We source organically grown wheat berries from the Canadian prairies. Sprouting wheat berries helps to decrease cook time and increase its sweet flavour.
As a whole grain, wheat berries are high in dietary fibre, B1 and B3 vitamins, and other minerals such as magnesium and phosphorous.
They are perfect for salads, grain bowls, soups, stews and even risotto. Because of their subtle taste, they compliment everything from bold salad dressings to a light dusting of cinnamon and dried fruit. You can find recipes with sprouted wheat berries here.

Storage & Shelf Life
After sprouting, we carefully dry the grains back down to their shelf stable moisture levels. This means you can store them as you would store unsprouted whole grains – in a cool, dry place (room temperature).
Once you cook your sprouted grains, they should be stored in an air-tight container in the fridge.
Shelf life: 2 years
