Description

Sprouted quinoa is naturally gluten-free, with a soft, delicate texture and earthy taste. Quinoa is a pseudocereal that originated in the Andes more than 3,000 years ago. It now grows around the world in over 120 varieties. It is a good source of protein and fibre, and contains 8 essential vitamins and minerals. The sprouting process aids in digestibility and reduces bitterness (saponin), resulting in a more subtle flavour.

It is very versatile and can be a direct replacement for unsprouted quinoa in salads, casseroles, side dishes, grain bowls, porridge and patties.

Cooking Instructions

Cook Time: 20 minutes

  1. Rinse
  2. In medium sized pot, mix 1 part Organic Sprouted Quinoa and 3 parts water.
  3. Bring to boil.
  4. Turn to LOW and simmer for 18-20 minutes or until desired texture is reached.
  5. Strain and rinse with warm water.

Storage & Shelf Life

After sprouting, we carefully dry the grains back down to their shelf stable moisture levels. This means you can store them as you would store unsprouted whole grains – in a cool, dry place.

Once you cook your sprouted pulses, they should be stored in an air-tight container in the fridge.
