Description
Grain Type: Organic White Quinoa
Uses: Curry, grain bowls, salad, soup, side dish
Taste: Mild, nutty, earthy
Organic Sprouted Quinoa is naturally gluten-free, with a fluffy, delicate texture and nutty taste. Quinoa has boomed in popularity recently, but it actually originated in the Andes more than 3,000 years ago. While it’s cooked as a grain, it is actually a seed from a flowering plant that’s related to spinach and beets. It is a good source of protein and fibre, and contains 9 essential vitamins and minerals, making it a complete protein. Of all the quinoa colours, white quinoa has the lightest taste and texture.
Sprouting quinoa aids in digestibility and reduces bitterness (saponin), resulting in a lighter, more subtle flavour. It also reduces its cook time to just 10 minutes, making it the perfect grain for a quick, nutritious and satisfying meal. Cooking sprouted quinoa is very easy, simply boil in water or broth.
It is very versatile and can be a direct replacement for unsprouted quinoa, rice and couscous. Use in hot or cold salads, casseroles, grain bowls, curries, porridge, patties and more. It’s also delicious as a side dish, try adding some toasted nuts and dried cranberries for added texture. For the home miller, sprouted quinoa also makes a wonderful addition to gluten-free baking. Excellent, flavourful. Use it in combination with other sprouted grains to grind for flour for all my baking. Now if you could only get rolled oats (my fav) into production. ..

You just got yourself a regular customer! 😀
I love this Quinoa! I don’t have to sort out the quinoa to find stones and any other crap before I rinse and cook, because there are none (great time saver). It smells great when cooking and tastes great too. I also love how this is from Ontario so the shipping is fast. I cook a cup of quinoa everyday so it’s great to find a place that sells the sprouted in bulk.
