Our Organic Sprouted Flax powder begins with organically grown Canadian brown flax that goes through a slow soaking and sprouting period. This aids in digestibility and improves taste and texture. Sprouting also stabilizes the seed’s natural oils, resulting in a longer shelf life than non-sprouted flax powder. The sprouted flaxseed is carefully dried at low temperatures, then the whole seed is milled into a fine powder. Whole flax is difficult to digest, so a powder is the best way for your body to absorb all the goodness that sprouted flax has to offer. We do not remove any part of the seed, so this process keeps all the essential vitamins and minerals intact.
Organic sprouted flax powder is rich in fibre and Omega 3 fatty acids, and has a wonderful nutty flavour. Enjoy 1-2 tablespoons daily as a nutritional boost to smoothies, yogurt, toast, oatmeal and cereal, or add it to all your favourite baked goods. It also works wonderfully as an egg replacement! Simply add 1 tbsp of flax powder to 3 tbsp of water and allow it to rest for 5 minutes before adding it to your recipe. Swap 1:1 for non-sprouted flax powder in any recipe.
